Potentially good deal on K-5 in USA... (buy.com)

Buy.com has the K-5 in stock and only $1,485.99. Plus, you can currently get 4% cashback through FatWallet.

The only reason I didn't place my order was that, like Amazon, they change tax in NYS now due to a frustrating law that went into place a couple years ago. The $120 in tax kind of wipes out the rest of the deal for me... Hopefully some other places will begin to sell it for a similar price.

B&H... another place with NYS tax. At least they have an excuse, being located here.

No cashback at B&H though. That's an extra $60 savings at buy.com. Adorama has 2%, for what it's worth.

You can get 1% at B&H when you click through from Bill Me Later and then you also can use the 6 months same as cash offer. Of course, clicking through from Bill Me Later prevents you from using the links here to support the site

Pretty much like Bing cashback, if you ever used that. Register on their site, then when you go to buy something, use the link on FatWallet's site before purchasing. After a period of time, the cashback is available and you can "cash out" in a few ways.

I placed an order for a K-5 today somewhere that was even cheaper and without NYS tax and with free 3-day FedEx shipping... but no cashback. I'll post where as soon as I get a shipping confirmation.

It's not THAT much of a better deal.

One place I found in my searching was Compsource, which has 5 in stock for $1,475 plus $10 shipping.

Thanks. I thought it was free shipping...or are you still hoarding?

I personally have a price script running that checks about 100 different retailers, and will alert me when the price drops under $1450, and so on. There are tons of online services that will do this for you, and send an email when the price you want is met.
