K-5: another sample

Hello,

I have to post one of my first shot with K-5. It is ISO 1000 and looks so clean and picture clarity is awesome. I really like my new toy. Shot with DA*50-135.

Took a lot of photos at birthday party with ISO 3200-6400 begin_of_the_skype_highlighting**************3200-6400******end_of_the_skype_highlighting and difference to K-7 is evident. All photos are perfectly usable small prints and with little PP even larger print. I did not notice so much difference with AF, maybe little bit less hunting, but not by a great margin comparing to K-7.

Great little camera!

Well you took this picture at ISO 1000. I can get very similar output from a K100D. Got anything noisier?

Can your K100d do ISO 5000?

I like how you post that smug emote as if you deserve any credit for the high-ISO performance of the K-5.

Check my posts fella. That emote, is at the end of every single one of my posts and it has NOTHING to do with the K5 or anything else photography related. You came in this thread busting the man's chops about his ISO 1000 photo and how it was no big deal and didn't expect some sort of response?

I'll ask again since you didn't answer. Can your K100d, Do ISO 5000? You wanted to see Higher, I gave it to you. Don't like it, pass the thread on by.

This ISO 1000 shot is very nice!
Indeed, some will say that you can push it way beyond that (the K5 is great at higher ISO, you will soon try it and be pleasantly surprised!) but I do like this shot.

Proud to be a K5 owner yet?

Cheers.

JP

What do you expect when you try and equate a K100D to a K-5

I can't afford a K-5 yet either but I will get one soon

Sorry Jeff, but your K100d photo just proves that the K-5 does a much nicer job. It has way less noise in the dark areas, more saturation and dynamic range.

I'm envious of schimi76's stellar lens collection and Jeff's kit and his Gretsch.
Good work fella's. And nice pics, too.

There has been so many K-5 high ISO samples (3200 and above), that it seemed valid to me present some pics in lower ISO, but something I thought K-7 wasn't able to do so well (nnd I wasn't comparing to K100 )

If I shoot ISO 800-1600 with K-7, I think there is a major downgrade in picture clarity, colour and noise is clearly visible. I don't have same kind of "problems" with K-5.

Sure I can shoot ISO 6400-12800 and clean it up, but for me it is more important to get clean result ISO 800-3200 range with as little PP as possible.

And thanks for the compliment Mickey, I try to find time to use all my lenses

Cheers, Marko
