K5 mid-level DSLR

not to fuel the flaming against dpreview but in the announcement for the k5 firmware update they call the K5 pentax mid-level dslr.

stupid me thinking i had bought top of the line

I think they might be referring to that it's a mid-level DSLR, from Pentax. Not that it's Pentax's mid-level DSLR.

would they call the 7d mid level? as the k5 seems to blow it out of the water specially after the firmware upgrade

Naw, the 7D is a "high-end digital SLR" -- naturally, it is a Canon after all (and a single-digit Canon no less!!! ). The D7000 is also "mid-level" though..?

Nikons are mid-level by default. We should be happy to have a mid-level Pentax actually, and not just the consumer grade cameras that everything lacking the Canikon badge are usually called.
