There is more to limiteds both DA and FA than known sharpness.

Most lenses if used correctly will give good results

I took a couple of pics to see if the RAW mode is worth using if one is not doing additional processing.

The whole image (18MB TIFF) is here

It was taken in RAW and in Jpeg.

One can see the difference (see the markings on the cup, especially) but this is one h*lluva magnification... (I am using the "*" because some US forums do not allow the "H" word to be used )

I had a K200D before the K5 and the difference was more visible on that one.

It's true the K-5 is sharp enough even with a TC.

Pentax 60-250 with Tamron 1.4 TC and 100% crop, no sharpening.
