The yaw speed threshold you mention makes engineering sense. I do not understand what "boundary" you refer to though with LV.

Next time I am out I will try a couple different panning speeds coupled with different shutter speeds to test out the theory here.

I mean the edge. In LV, the sensor is shifted permanently and you would pan the camera before triggering the shutter. In an attempt to compensate, the sensor should shift and hit the edge long before the exposure is taken. Confining sensor shift to the vertical direction.

A new thing in the K-5 is that the hand icon (in the VF) stays on while you're keeping the camera *steady*. As soon as you move too much the hand icon will disappear. Interestingly, I can pan horizontally and keep the hand icon lit. That could mean that the camera knows when there is panning and compensate only for vertical movement.
