Rain, clouds, mist, mud, Quads and a Pentax K-5

Hello...just today I went to the National Quadcross competition and took the K-5 along with the DA* 16-50mm. Here some of the results. I will get some 100% crops of some of the pictures later.
I'm amazed of the AF speed and accuracy. The rest of the photographers were amazed of me taking pictures in the rain without a cover and the camera soaking wet. Even more square eyes when I poured water over my dirty camera to get rid of the mud. Proud pentaxian!

I'm impressed by the K5. Have no words to describe the excitement!

Thanks....as you can see, the Pentax K-5 is perfect for this conditions. Here two 100% crops of the first two pictures. These crops are unmodified (only contrast changed). Oh and also I shoot jpgs when shooting motorsports because I don't want to process the pictures and the results are completely usable and even printable on the newspaper (as some of my motorsports pictures have been printed on the sports section).

First picture, 100% crop, ISO 800, 1/500, F6.3, DA* 16-50.

Second picture, 100% crop, ISO 800, 1/640, F6.3, DA* 16-50

To be honest I don't have a high opinion of the activity, but these are really excellent photos.

Really superb pics, and more examples of what the K-5 is capable of.
The fast moving object and harsh weather and conditions, and it looks like the K-5 handled it with ease.

The crops are very good all things considered.

Great shots , especially under such fast moving conditions.

ATVs....love them or hate them......to me these circuit races are fine. But ATVs out in the wild can be quite damaging to the environment...just my opinion..

Great shots, and a bit of a daredevil for your actions on handeling the K-5.

That second shot is fantastic!!

I'm thinking of getting a K-5, and this may be a stupid question. I understand that it's weather sealed, but does that mean I can really just walk around in the rain w/o a cover on the camera or lens? I haven't had a weather sealed camera before, so the concept alone scares me!
