These are some high contrast shots with the k-5 and 15-55 wr lens. I really do wish that i had a sharper lens, able to capture the details that the sensor is capable of generating.

bobby_navy ... Oh I really like the first one! Looks like the K5 does convert to pretty decent high contrast B/W pics!

boby_navy: there's nothing wrong with the 18-55wr. use it with confidence, you will rarely be disappointed. keep shooting with it and stop moaning, you've got a great camera, a very decent lens, and nice ideas as it seems

Dang, Joe--I'm trying to steel myself to sell my Sigma 70-200 2.8 HSM. You're not helping.

A testament to the AF and the very usable ISO 6400 and high dynamic range...I was able to get good focus, stop the action on a dim, cloudy day in the woods with a slow lens, and still maintain the dynamic range necessary to keep the snow from blowing out WHILE capturing details of a black dog.

Try this at home.
What a great pic.

The doggie is a little dark here though. I'd lighten his/her face a bit.

Oh sorry these images have been PP in photoshop with the contrast boosted. The B/W pics straight out of the camera are a bit bland for me. Im not quit sure if the cameras DR helps with boasting contrast in PP without ruining the image though. I know i couldnt've boosted the contrast on the k7 this much without getting completly black areas and off color whites.

It's part of a series I'm working on. You can see the rest HERE. Most of them were taken with my K10D.

I like it! Sometimes I'll see a neat rock formation or some such and pass it by because it lacks any real focal point and it's occurred to me to place something incongruous in the scene.

Wow. I am impressed! Do take a look everyone! Very interesting series. You may want to post it on its own in the Photo Sharing section of the forum.
