The portrait is a bit scary. I think that if you increased the contrast in PP, it might be better with a little bit less contrast and in exchange, substitute a bit of softening instead. She seems like a nice old lady and possibly not that craggy looking in real life. JimH

You're spot on about her being a nice old lady, but she really is (nearly) that craggy looking in real life...95 years will do that to you! But I completely take on board what you're saying, and I do agree that the processing of the shot does bring out a more dramatic / harsh look (which is kind of what I was going for - first time using Nik SE2). Thanks for the feedback

A slightly more flattering (and amusing) shot (posted small as I think I posted it earlier in this thread) of her:

damn...it has been a while since I have been on this thread. Looking at all these pictures is awesome...and keeping me entertained at 5 am haha.

I have a couple of my own to contribute. Both from a recent trip up to Jerome, AZ.

This first one is at the Grand Hotel. This is a fascinating building...Hospital turned Hotel, and is extremely haunted. The Asylum Restaurant is on the first floor (excellent food and bar btw) and this is their mascot.

This image was made on a walk through the town of Jerome. We were actually waiting for a seat at a restaurant across the street. (The name escapes me at the moment, but the food there is frickin' amazing.)

After Jerome we went to Prescott....a neat little town. We stayed right on Whiskey Row at the Hotel St. Michael.

This place called The Raven Cafe was apparently a short walk away....I found it entirely by accident, but seems to be the best place in town for a beer and some good food. This is in the Restroom of that place....there was interesting art all over this place. (it's like art gallery that serves food and drink haha)

The rocks reminded me of some strange sea monster swimming against the tide.
