You know you can open a door to another universe with this kind of thing don't you? Interesting mood in that picture though... the doorway to hell comes to mind.

So this shot was taken with the Sigma 'OS' version then? I like the picture as I've been trying to take similar shots lately but can never seem to get the sun where I want it. or maybe I'm just lazy.

PS: Are you going to hang on to the DA*50-135 Joe?

I think I will be to use in the clubs for shooting the bands (and also for portrait work) - the Sigma is just too big (and weighs too much), would be a real pain trying to maneuver through crowds of people with this monster.

Yes, was out in the woods along the river looking for some Osprey, a few flew in but I couldn't compose quick enough - on the way out the sun was setting so I snapped a couple and thought this one turned out pretty descent with the large amount of bokeh in the snap...

Thanks for replying.

I have tried two of those Sigmas and they have almost no CA. I was about to buy one when i grabbed a 3mth old 60-250 and DA55 on eBay from the same seller. I got both lenses for about 200 more than I would've had to pay locally for the 70-200 so I couldn't resist. The Sigma lens is certainly bloody heavy though and getting used to the reversed action of the rings would be a pain too i thought... ..but it's still a tasty lens.

Thanks guys.

These are reworked shots Simon. You can now make out skin tones through the fiberglass. They have a weird 3D look inside the tube that wasn't really there in the earlier versions I feel.

Ya, I am still getting familiar with the Sigma - the OS @ 200mm seems to work a little better than the internal SR of the body, I will be testing this a little more over the next couple of weeks. As for the CA, you are right, I have seen virtually none so far...

I like it a lot. Maybe slightly lighter lower down as its just a bit too dark for me in that area. Maybe just a hint of something behind would help.

Like the reworking Bossa. The figures have a nice bit of clarity and are positioned just right. I think its the vibrancy of the green and blue that really hits the eye though.

Excellent family portraits Simon.
