Well, cheap should not mean bad. This Samyang is well known for good quality and pop-up effect. On many russian forums I have seen people discussing it as a very good portrait lens with ability to make the object to be highly "visibly". He also have talent of making a great compositions and some luck - he is from eastern part of Europe... you know, spring is coming, it will be again hard to stay focused in Moscow subway - too many distractions and possible photography objects

I'm planning to test a new set of water/lighting eqiupment next Tuesday (17th) at a studio (since the weather still sucks for being a Spring time) and definetely will need some assistance with it. Will you be on time? How long would it take to make it from Australia to here?
Just save some water for me...

I don't believe I said 'bad' and I certainly wasn't implying that it was as I'd love to have one myself.

As above but cropped a bit more

This morning with the DA*60-250 F4

Today with the 60-250

Nice moon shots!
The DA*60-250 looks sharper than the FA*300, is that your take too?

I'm not really a fan of watermarks either. Nice photo though. FS nice work as well.

Thanks. Watermarks are not to enhance an image, but to protect it.

After the others being so good I'd have to say that this one is a 'fail'. It has too much PP on the face and it almost looks like a lousy drawing. Sorry mate but I have grown acustomed to your other great work and felt it had to be said. :ugh:

I guess I won't be water boy after all because I said that...

Yes, I'm shocked and I'll probably be selling off a few lenses I think. This lens really is as good as they say.

Bear in mind that the blue sky of the FA300 shot gives the false impression of lo-res. The darker sky of the 60-250 shot makes it look a bit better than the FA300 due to contrast and it's probably a little unfair.

Thanks for an opinion anyway. This is what actually drives and encourages a photog. Me at least. I think your impression has a lot to do with: a low contrast scene(I deal with the existing uncontrolled light often - this what I enjoy a lot about K-5), the downsize engine makes the image look softer (what I hate the most about any forums - it killes a lot of details and skin tecsture which are actually there), my PP techniques and approaches need to be improved at least for low res screen presentation - all of it has it's input respectively.
But...just to give you the idea I publish the original unmanipulated image here, too. I don't find it overprocessed, at least to the degree which makes the ladies keep contacting me, besides shooting. PP is one of the reasons to order pictures. None of them want them raw as is.
And the overall idea was so. Kinda vintage style since her outfit and overall surroundings are up to it.
I dont' insist this is my best shot though,-) I hate many of them But still post just to know what people think.
