Beautiful image Mark! The subtle detail in the trees on the islands is striking.
Cheers - 30 seconds later two RAF jets came right between the gap, turning on their wingtips. As low as I've seen jets in the Lake District. I'd turned to talk to a fisherman at precisely that moment

Posted a similar one before but still playing with shots from the same session and trying to work out what works and what doesn't.

Candi Plaosan, Yogyakarta

Just come back from a short trip to Yogyakarta.
Wonderful place with lots of history, ancient sites and friendly people.

The lighting was very harsh when I took this.
But with the stunning DR of the K5, I was able to expose to keep histogram within the limits.
Recovered everything in post process.

The K5 is truly the "No more tests! Just pictures" camera for me.

Ha! Missed it that much. Sorry. I do feel your pain. But it's so refreshing to discover that people as accomplished as you don't always get the shot.

Do I need to mention that your shots, landscape, kittens or dogs in landscape are just brilliant?

Next time.

Richard.

Cheers Richard. The RAF were obviously on exercises that day. I took the shot below at dawn that morning. I was just packing up to move away when a huge Hercules came along on wingtips right through the shot. I wouldn't have got it properly anyway as the exposures would have been too slow. An amazing sight the big Hercules when they are on exercise as they fly incredibly low.
