Monday night heading home from work, I was crossing lake Russell GA/SC border, had to stop and try out my new 18-135mm WR lens.

Shot these on my new DA 35 Macro, acquired a few days ago from a forum member. Reactions so far: quite sharp, highly resistant to flare, very limited CA, and nice color and contrast. Quite versatile. Long throw and screw drive make it a little noisy and slow if going from macro to infinity...no surprise there.

But this is really a pretty sweet lens.

Should have used a tripod on some of these, but not bad for handheld!

1st shot: PP in camera raw, cropped a bit.

2nd shot: PP in camera raw and Color Efex.

3rd shot: 100% crop, PP in camera raw, probably would be sharper with a tripod (1/20s).

I love that 1st shot. You must've been very close to that insect with a 35mm Macro. I like alien world feel to the image.

Agreed - its a beaut. Like the leaf as well.

Unusually, a landscape with the 40. Taking a customer out on Falcon Crag for dawn. He'd brought the wrong mounting plate for his tripod so I lent him mine. No colour but a nice letterbox of light appeared just after the sun cleared the horizon.

fs999, I was looking at your work both here and on flickr site and I must say you have got real talent. You are a master of your Pentax equipment. I guess you can tell I am inspired.

Excellent as always Frederic but I'm going to single out that last one. I love images with a touch of the surreal about them and thats a cracker
