K5 & Lightroom 4.1 - Steam Locomotive

I previously shared this photo in B&W as I liked the results. I recently bought Lightroom 4.1 and have been revisiting some of my earlier shots with the K5 and various lenses. The new version of Lightroom is still not as fast as Photoshop, but it does have some features that Photoshop (CS5) appears to not have.. at any rate, I worked on this shot last night in Lightroom and thought I would share the color version with you. This was taken with the K5 at ISO 400 f/2.8 18mm focal length 1/30s exposure - handheld.

Nice Capture Jim , Few years ago I started a Fitting ,Turning and Machining course " Dad's Army" Type at TAFE here in sydney, My F&M Teachers was right into steam. Another guy whom I work with is also a Steam Buff and he used to give me all sorts of steam Videos to Watch, I have a few here but haven't got around to watching them all , Sir Nigel Gresly, awesome giants of steam , British steam 1950's and 1960's , Titans of Steams , Glory days and more... I really enjoy watching them. Looks like the one in the picture is undertaking a Full Resto.

Like that one Twitch. Sold my 15 to fund a trip to Venice and wishing I'd sold a kidney instead.

On our way to Colchuck Lake in the Cascade Mountains; Washington State. I actually just (carefully) set the camera on the railing of a bridge, set the timer and hoped for the best.

18-55mm; 1/5; f/13; ISO200
