Hi Frederic,
We need to have a dedicated gallery just for you to demonstrate to non-Pentax and Pentax users what can be achieved with Pentax... Even though we know it is the one behind the gear...

Thanks again for your fantastic work...

I was getting ready to leave the house this morning when this downy woodpecker came close. I grabbed the camera with the Sigma 70-200 mounted and took a few shots before he flew off.

I'm still getting to know my new K-5. Went to a school function yesterday and decided to take only jpgs. Updated my firmware from v1.01 (bought the camera new in November--now I'm worried that it was old stock), turned highlight and shadow protection on just for fun but left the color scheme on default ("bright"). Brought only my Pentax-F 50mm f1.4 lens that tends to get left behind a lot and discovered what potential the combo has. This photo is nothing special, and maybe my K200D could have done it, but then again... It has had some very minor white balance adjustments and some sharpening and that's it (wish I could figure out why colors lose so much vibrancy when uploaded here). Someone mentioned on here a handful of posts ago that it's the photographer not the gear that really counts. I agree of course, but I can tell you that even in the hands of a total hack, the right gear makes a huge difference! And while I've been a relatively die-hard RAW proponent, I see increasing use of jpg in my future...
