No particular secrets. There was a pretty bad storm and I went with my K5 and DA *16-50 on a tripod. Pointed towards the worst of the electrical activity and shot away. I think settings were something like f8, iso 400, 8 seconds. I just used hyperfocal focusing because it was way too dark for anything else.

I tried to lighten the foreground in lightroom, but honestly, it was windy enough that the foliage just looked messy, so I figured the photo was better off dark. That's about it...

Impressive, Rondec! Just stunning ....

------------------

First shot of many

I recently spent a week in Beijing, a city which is overwhelming, exciting and frightening. The speed of development is incredible, hutongs next to a building like the CCTW, street food and star restaurants, rikshaws and large limos. During my stay I tried to capture the atmosphere of the city - the atmosphere of constant change and an atmosphere which is constantly changing. From the relaxation in temples to the business of undergrounds.

It took me a long time to select the first picture. In the end, it became a typical tourist spot: the forbidden city. However, we tried to enter it on a Monday when it is closed. So we strolled through the hutongs next to it, from where I took a shot of the outside of the forbidden city.
