Nice ones, Vincent ... and please keep posting here ... TFS, J

PS - Thanks for comparing the K-5 vs. the K-5ii ... I'm going to hang on to my K-5 for awhile ... no K-3 urge, yet

The shots in this thread

Really impressive, I need to get practicing. I'm a noob here, hello all.

Had my K-5ii just one day! Loving it already.

@Rondec, those shots are so crisp. I see they were taken with a smc PENTAX-DA 15mm F4 ED AL Limited.

I've only got the lowly 18-55 DA L WR kit lens so far. I'm getting some ok shots but nothing with the clarity and crispness of those pics. Would I be right in thinking I'll be needing a lens of the 5mm F4 ED AL Limited's calibre to get that sort of quality?

I have a Pentax-M smc 50mm F/2 on the way, got it for a very low price. Looking forward to trying it out.

I think the DA 15 is a special lens, but the kit lens is pretty good, too. if you set around 20mm and f8 and use a tripod you can do pretty well. The special thing about the 15 is the way that it resists flaring. There aren't too many other lenses out there that you can shoot straight into the sun and still preserve detail throughout the frame.

My best lens

Lately I've been shooting more with the D-FA 100 macro wr and the results have been getting better and better.

@luisalves very good. There's no way my 55-18 kit lens can do that.

Oh no, the wallet is coming out!

My 18-55 wr is actually pretty good, it's my landscape/street lens, but I must admit that the 100 macro wr is on another league.
