Rupert, you hit the nail on the head. Notice his empty corn cob nail and the "I am so going to hurt you unless this gets rectified right now" look upon his cute little face. Several insults and guttural squawks after taking this shot he made a mad dash towards my position, then decided otherwise. To think I was spending so much time watching birds when these little tyrants run the east side of my yard. Some closer scrutiny is now warranted. And he has these little guys (squinties) watching from below my sidewalk. They bark at each other when passing information.

Mercy Rwingsfan!!! You are so lucky I came along and saw that shot. I've seen that before, here in the Woods of Otis. See his arm? He's giving you the squirrel warning sign that if you don't start putting out some decent feed...like sunflower seeds or roasted peanuts, him and his buddies are going to bring you down and gnaw off your arm! Don't go out there until you have something to feed him, or you will soon be a one armed shooter!

Also, don't question their ability to take you down and hurt you bad! They lift weights and work out all the time...

Sometimes there are hundreds of them out there doing push ups to keep in shape...

Then when you go out to water the plants, one will be lurking and jump on your face, taking out your eyes, which is a good thing....so you won't have to witness what his buddies are doing to your arm!

Don't say I didn't warn you! I'm not the sharpest tack in the box, or the best shooter....but I damn sure know squirrels!

Regards!
Many thanks, Rupert and Rwingsfan, for alerting me to the Squirrel menace. I had no idea and have been living in a fool's paradise blissfully unaware of rodent peril.

FS--- I give this set to #5, although it was a tough choice. All excellent! Love the fly shot, and that last one is inviting me and my little Audi TT to hit the road!

jva59- Well, we'll see what happens to our friend here, but it looks pretty grim at the time. He had better be missing because he is at the Feed Store buying corn and peanuts! You be careful out there too, these guys can play rough......

Just shot these minutes ago....you have to remember they were shot through window panes, at 500mm and a distance of about 50 feet. These won't win any prize, but they will be saved for card fronts where they will print just fine.

Maybe for someone in a bind, the card would be captioned...."Stuck in the Briars of Life?"

Reds are tough with any camera, they just blow out so fast. Couple that with the amazing number of shades of red and it makes for tough shooting!

I can walk to the bathroom from my office today, about 6-10 feet, without a crutch or walker. Hurts like hell, but I'm going to keep at it until I have recovered, no matter how long it takes. In a few weeks maybe I will be out and about shooting new material!

Regards!

Kcupp95..Beautiful scenery, nice shooting....the last one with the still water is my favorite. Looks like a place I fished when I was a kid.

Luis..some nice shots there, the little "mushroom buddies" are neat!

FS...Thanks! I thought I posted my best Cardinal a few days ago, but this morning, first thing at my desk, I looked out in the Woods of Otis and saw this one. I was fast to grab the K5/Bigma and got what may be my best ever "through the window" Cardinal shot. Look at the one one the previous page and tell me which one you think is best?

Otis demanded that I post more handsome squirrels, so here is one he calls "Skinny". All the squirrels here are so fat they can barely move, yet they demand more and more feed every week. If Otis' Army ever goes to war, "Skinny" would make a great cannonball!

Best Regards!

Newport Beach Boat Parade

I took this picture at ISO 12800 since it was pitch black and with the boat speeding away at quite a speed. I was amazed with the high ISO performance of the camera. Shot in TAV mode with a 18-135 lens on pentax K-5II.

Rupert, upon your advice I hit the Fleet Farm and got Bubba and his minions some corn cobs, at this point they seem satisfied but they have yet to make another appearance, at least while I was watching. I did however put a couple of peanuts out and it did not take long for you-know-who to show up
