Terrific! Makes me want to take another trip to Africa (I had a splendid time in Zambia some while ago).

I second that, awesome shots!
Thanks guys, glad you like them

We too had a great time in Zambia a few years ago. Definitely have to go back! So many places...

Lots of super shots here!
I must confess, since getting a K-01 my K5 has been idle much of the time.
Today I dusted it off, mounted the DA 55-300, and shot a few birds during our snowstorm.

Little guys watching the big guys have a food fight.

Northern flicker.

Walked into work the other day through the intense cold, which had an interesting effect on the smoke or more likely vapor rising from the heating plant. For good measure, I include a picture of a man and his dog braving the cold.

single exposure, mixed lighting (one strobe behind him with only the modeling light on, and a strobe turned on in from of him to his right)

Nice work FS!~ I can't take food photos for the life of me... which is pretty much the only thing people take photos of here in Taiwan.

JVA-- A great series, especially the monochromes. Did you have to put much work into post-processing? I find myself drawn more and more to B&W, but the after-shot work isn't quite as intuitive as color images, it seems.

Many thanks! CreationBear. I use Nik Silver Efex pro and the Nik sharpener and de-noised, and find them easy and intuitive. I would say a relatively modest amount of PP.

JVA-- Thanks for the feedback...Nik Silver Efex is seeming to be more of a "must have" these days, so I might as well bite the bullet and buy the bundle. Otherwise, some great images--the first especially reminded me of my days at PSU.

Been very busy, furnace is going out...... but still looking at the shots here....nice stuff you guys are posting.
FS- Love the fruit shot....and butterfly...or is that a moth? Cake...what kind?

A couple of little birdies I shot yesterday when it was 18F......uncommonly cold for here!
For 20% crops of the original frames, and at 50 feet out through my windows....I'll take it! Love my K5!

I see you over there........want me to come over?

Yeah, come on over, I'm all fluffy and warm, you can be too!

Regards!

This is one of my favorite threads, and I've been wanting to post for a long time- but alas, the path that I am presently on keeps me very busy. I'd been hoping to post a few from the past before we lost some of our friends to the K-3. I'll catch up with it eventually.

Here are a few variations taken during the melt following our recent ice storm just prior to Christmas. These were taken with a regular K-5 and a newly acquired FA 77mm Limited which I think I'm really going to enjoy.

One more image- also K-5 with FA 77mm Limited, basically as out-of-camera (with exception of frame and title ).
