jegr...Nice shots! Really like the frogs...snakes too, since those are non-venomous!

FS- I'm going to try and set up my K5 and some strobes outside to capture some of my nightly visiting raccoons. They are well acquainted with me and I can usually get some decent shots. It's just hard to focus with the K5 in the darkness. Most of my shots of them are with the Fuji X10/X20, which focus well in total darkness.

They don't do topless posing like the squirrels, but they will pose for free ( or a few table scraps!) Damn squirrels have gotten so "uppity" and lazy after years of living like spoiled kids that I can barely deal with them anymore.

Keeping this a K5 thread...I had to cheat a little.....you don't mind if old Rupert cheats just a little.....do you?
Here is a genuine K5 shot...shot with the K5 and Bigma 50-500 while sitting at my desk and posting this Fuji X20 shot on my 27" Asus monitor...then shooting it! EXIF reads K5...which it is!

Maybe next week I can get some "Genuine" K5 shots of the raccoons.....Last night would have been a good night, two of them got in a big fight over a T-bone and rolled around in the dirt for ten minutes fighting...while a third one stole the bone and took off for the woods!

Regards!
Rupert, loved the Racoon! (One of my very favorite books as a child was Rascal by Sterling North, about a boy and his raccoon.)

Thanks! I do love raccoons, and have plenty of them around here. I feed them every night....dry dog food and/or leftovers. They eat like pigs. Raccoons are like circus clowns, and watching them play is great entertainment.
They have their share of fights too....never to the death, just enough to let each other know they will stand their ground when it comes to food! Many times I have watched two fight while one or two others are eating up the food and laughing their little butts off!

Here are a few shots I have taken, as you can see, they know me well and let me get very close. I don't try to pet them or touch them, after all, they are wild...but I do want them to not fear me so I can get some shots! Some of the best shots are with the little X20...it will focus in the dark and do it quickly.

There is a lot of great stuff here on this forum, and I think the legend of the old K5 isn't over by a long shot (pardon the pun)

@koko, nice photo. Can you tell us where it is made?

I saw on your flickr post that you have a lot of aircraft's photos. There is a aircraft club here, on this forum.

FS...All fine as usual, but in particular I like that 2nd one, it's gorgeous!

Koko....What a view! What a shot!

Took the K5 outside for a few minutes this evening....just to plink a few shots.

This little guys is getting his new lighter color summer coat....

Hey buddy! This is squirrel country, and leaving a nut laying around like that could prove to be costly! You better watch your back!

Don't know what this is, but I shot it!

A closer look?

Regards!

Thanks bjdavey!

Not common to see a Bluejay on the ground here.....

Very common to see a fat squirrel on the fence.....you can see dozens of them most anytime!
