Kathie,
Why don't you use the Raw converter that came with your K-5, it's pretty good and you can "fiddle" with your pics quite a lot. (Before you lash out and buy any sort of, say Adobe, software). I am quite sure your computer is powerful enough to load up the free Silkypics that came with the K-5.

Greetings

Actually like the tail location in the shot... makes it look like it is trailing off the picture.

I agree, makes your eyes concentrate more on the head of the bird.
Sometimes a pic can look too complete. (Do I make sense?) When I do it with my photos sometimes I call it "Take something off to add something".

Greetings

Thanks for the tip. I loaded the Pentax software, but hadn't really explored it.

From my trip to Hong Kong earlier this year, and a resident in our backyard who comes to visit us often.

Making the best of it

The weather here has been dire since my new K-5 arrived. But I've not let that stop me.

I love it (the K-5 that is not the weather)

Smeggy and Jva, as a city planner I really appreciate these photos. They bring to life the issues that many of us in this profession work so hard to address. They are spurring me to go out and take some shots of the many foreclosed homes / abandonded suburban developments in the area. Have a few shots in mind right now.

Thanks for inspiration!

It amazing how we can put things together, but when they start to fall apart, one gets a depressing sense of being behind the "maintenance" curve. But it really just takes a little effort which few are willing to put up. Suppose it keeps many folks in business...
