Awesome shots Vespats! Wow, makes me want the K-5 even more (not quite sure how that's even possible).

Not a great shot but it shows the amazing DR of this camera. Vibrance and fill light adjusted. Sigma 10-20 1/800 sec @ f8, ISO 80.
I don't think my K20 could have got this shot. The tree would be completely black and/or the sky blown out.

Thats a very impressive Dynamic range Greg! With Dynamic range so high like that it kind of even looks like HDR.
No way i could get a single shot like that on my K200D without the tree black or have the sky blown!

No HDR used here! The detail in the tree was pretty much "as is" in the original. Just adjusted the vibrancy (contrast) and fill light slightly. Not bad for shooting directly into the sun!

New K5 User

Hi all,

A brief history,
Previously Shooting Pentax since 1974, on the digital end started with the istD then two K10's fllowed by the K20 and this week became the proud owner of the K5.

Camera arrived Wednesday, grip on Friday and shot the Local International Avalon Airshow Saturday.
A bit of a rush but all went well.
Here are a couple of images and a link to my airshow shots Pbase gallery.
Comments more than welcome.

Nico.
