Ya, don't know what the h*** was happening to me last night, just couldn't seem to get anything right - went from a great weekend to a dismal evening.

I really went down just to set up at the Jefferson Memorial and try to work the FE some in the dome, when I first got there, there was still a load of people out (1:00am), so scurried over to Abe and took a few shots, then went back to the Jefferson memorial to finish up. I converted the Jefferson ones to B&W only because of the lens flare, I am going to try and rig up something to place over the FE to try and eliminate some of the flare for the next go around - here is another, shot from AL Memorial (this shot is a great shot IF and only IF you can catch it when the fountains are on at the WWII memorial, which is at the footer of the picture - that place is really lit up well when the fountains are active):

I liked the TJ shots, so I wouldn't say you couldn't get anything right. But we're often our own worst critics.

The low-light, high-iso capabilities of the K-5 have not yet ceased to amaze me. Went to a Mets game tonight thanks to my son and his girlfriend and snapped this picture on the way out. Hand held at ISO 3200 with the DA 21mm...

Pardon me while I stare at that shot for about an hour. Stunning! It has atmosphere, depth and absolutely gorgeous composition.

Great pano! Love the colors, too! Is that close to 180 degrees?

Wow, great stuff. That top one looks like you moved a studio to the pond! Great lighting. Did you use any modifiers? (reflectors, fill, whatever)

I kinda thought so; either that or a big-ass reflector. I used to have a big, heavy projection screen with the silver glass-bead surface and a weighted base that I used for location fill. I picked it up at a flea market for $5 in 1984 or so. I miss it sometimes, but I don't miss carrying it!

I still have some umbrellas and lightstands (and strobes, but they don't help on location ), and I recently got the brackets that hold a shoe-mount flash with umbrella. Do you use manual flash or P-TTL for fill like that? I mean, I've got a Metz AF 48-1 and it works 'off-camera wireless' with the K-5, but I've not played with it in fill-flash conditions.
