I do not know if the question is appropriated or probably inconvenient but; what kind of edition software or camera HIGH ISO NR settings you are using? I have been trying to shoot (outdoor) selecting ISO 1600 to gain in speed but the results are far away from what you and some people have been showing in this forum.

- I am not an expert by far but the K5 has brought back a passion and it is the best DSLR I have owned by far , alllowing way more lattidude (ISO), better meetering, etc that it opens up all new possibilites as well make existing ones just easier to shoot without having to spend hours on the computer pp
Shutter speed is not an issue on this kind of shot - just make sure you have a tripod or at least a stable platform. The in camera NR is off. I shot RAW (DNG). For this shot I was shooting AV mode with the DA* 50-135 a very sweet lens. I dialed in F11 (for a resonable DOF) and let the camera choose shutter. ISO was on auto ( 80 - 3200). I was using a tripod, with mirror up , 2 second delay. That was the shot set up. Don't think I truned SR off , should have but don't remember doing it so it's likley I did not.
As for PP I broguht the DNG file into Lightroom III. A litte tweaking with exposure, up the birghtness and contrast, calirity and vibrance - the starting point is from a preset that mithrandir created
https://www.pentaxforums.com/forums/digital-processing-software-printing/7940...m-presets.html - I then adjust to my likling.
I just downloaded the 30 day trial of Topaz Denoise which (with a little effort) works as an external editor in Lightroom. I again used one of the presets supplied witht the Denoise software (raw light or raw moderate can't remember). I really like this software and am going to purchase it once my trial expires (you can view Adam's - Site Admin - signature and get some of your purchase price go to PentaxForums and your status as a site supporter).
So that's it. Of course the conditions have to right as well. It was a beautiful evening, with just a wisp of clouds and no wind whatsoever.
