Great shot Skier! Last couple of weeks I spent ages trying to get some decent shots of birds in flight. Here is another seagull...I wish more there were more interesting birds flying past regularly, but seagulls are at least regular to learn a bit about shooting birds in flight! I managed plenty of Vultures and Eagles up in the mountains near where I was, but they were a) much further away, and b) dark feathered and taken against white cloud, making lighting much more difficult. Maybe I'll post some of those at some point!

Wow, fantastic pictures everyone! FS999, I particularly like the wide-angle shot of the church (your 3rd shot in your post).

Took this last night: a delicate dance of planes taking off from San Francisco airport.
Six photos, 80-100 seconds each, stacked and combined in Photoshop. FA 50mm lens.

It was quite windy out there (the fog was rolling in) but I found that a large umbrella makes a perfect wind-block for the camera and tripod.

Great photo Bats - really interesting. I took one similar the other day by accident - forgot I had the 2sec timer on and then moved the camera around to reset it all...whilst taking a 20 second exposure. Obviously mine was just a random mess of dotted light trails rather than the quality arrangement you've captured

Would be interesting to see this taken on even further with MORE shots captured and stacked - I'd imagine the lines would get pretty crazy after a while!

Finally got around to editing some of my nephew...love the expression on his face in this one. It was taken with a Sigma 50mm f1.4, which is a REALLY nice lens which I'd highly recommend!

Got that lens when I had Nikons, it has nice bokeh as well.

Priceless! This would be great as the subject of a caption competition.

Just got my shiny and brand new Sigma 50-500 HSM APO and what better than to send a picture to Otis from an Indian friend as the first try? Oh, he also got a short visit from a Red-whiskered Bulbul for the short time I could be outside between the heavy showers. It has been raining all day (damn you monsoon, enough already!) so it has been bad light and really dark all day.
Anyway, for being two of my first shots with this heavy lens I am surprised of the quality!
