Very nice... love the colour.. as it should be. Andromeda is just above the northern horizon here.. too low unfortunately.

Hmm.. I wasn't sure as to how it was used but I found the section of the website that shows it.

I wonder how would this compare to the O-GPS1 that is now available for the K-5?

@ Simon: how did you get the stars fade at your second picture?
Thanks! Its a 30min exposure in bulb mode, aka star trails

Still waiting on my higher quality lenses to arrive (one of which is coming from here, thank you all) but even with a mediocre lens this camera is amazing!

Shot with Quantaray 70-300 f4-5.6.

300mm f/5.6, ISO 800, 240sec single exposure. Tracked with AstroTrac. Very (very)minimal post processing done with PS.

Semper Fi!
Josh
Fantastic shot!

A few more from yesterday and late last night we had a storm come through so I quickly packed my gear and went out to see the light show.

That galaxy shot is mind-blowing, your seeing must be pretty good and the lightning shots are great.

This is a great thread.
Here are a couple from the weekend.
I'm not in the same league as some posters here, but I thought these were OK.

Here are a few shots from the Scripps Aquarium in San Diego, taken this afternoon. All 3 with my new K-5 at ISO 1600, with the DA 35 Macro, handheld.

1/100 sec. at f/2.8

1/15 sec. at f/2.8

1/400 sec. at f/2.8

There are a few more on my blog.

Simon - you never cease to amaze, man. Great pics.

Frederic - really phenomenal work. I like the 4th pic (pastel greens and purples) the best.

Lots of other great shots here too - this is one of my favorite threads.

I've been experimenting lately with Nik Silver Efex. Wonderful program. Here's my daughter at the playground.
