Both shots absolutely ravishing! I'd be interested in knowing a little more about how you got them: what lens, with tripod, without and so on.
Hi! Sorry for taking so long to answer, and thanks for the compliments, i am glad you liked them!

Both shots were handheld, and for the bridge shot, i used a graduated neutral density filter, ISO 200, f8, 1/90 sec, 18 mm, while for the river river everything was the same except the shutter speed that was slighty faster, 1/180, and no filter was necessary. I added a blue tint in PS to give it a antique plate look.

Both shots were taken using JPEG. I very rarely use RAW.

Impressive photos!

@jsherman999, indeed one of the best image threads.:-)

Some photos using manual lenses (smc Pentax-M 50mm/f1.7 and Asahi S-M-C Takumar 135mm/f3.5):

And the D FA Macro 100mm/f2.8 WR in action:

Here's one I took with 77mm, which is now my favorite lens - even wide open. Add the dynamic range of K5, and you have a great tool to capture portraits:
wow, maybe the 77mm is my next lens.

Taken last summer. Just hacking around with a wide angel lens and polarizing filter, before I was really clear on how to use the polarizer. I just deleted a couple thousand photos from my hard drive, but these are among those worth sharing. Comments/criticism welcome:

JacekPSUr1 Good shots, I really like the second and third shots.

These are some snaps I shot at the auto show at the end of the year:

I bounced the flash off of the hood (The hood was gray or silver) for this one

Great pics, IIGQ4U!! Love them all!

Question - how do you get the pics with such sheen? Is it the angle at which you shoot, or a post-processing trick that you can share with us? Thanks!

Hi, thanks for the compliment.

I didn't process these photos much. I was looking for angles to shoot these vehicles without too many people interfering.

As far as processing, I didn't step outside of Aperture 3. I added some detail to all of the pics, sharpening and some contrast to a couple of them.

The smooth sheen or even lighting on the Audi engine was from bouncing the flash off of the hood. I held the flash in my left hand as I photographed the engine bay.
