Shot in Frederick, MD with DA * 16-50mm. No HDR, but simple manipulation in LR using luminance, saturation, exposure and fill lighting.

Finally, I had a chance to do try out some subtle and not-so-subtle HDR processing.
Diner in Columbia, SC in late afternoon. Three-shot 1.5ev HDR, K-5 with Pentax SMC-DAL 18-55mm at F/4, 1/20th S, ISO 800.

The Cockabooses. HDR provided the gradient necessary to keep the sides of the cars evenly lit. K-5 3-shot, F/8, 1/1000S, 18mm Pentax 18-55mm SMC-DAL lens.

Library of the SC State Capitol looking west at midday. Same lens, F/4.5 at 1/25S, 3 shots at 1.5ev steps, HDR & B/W convert.

Nice shots. I prefer one shot HDR processing (unless there's movement in the subject and so would then go for a 3 shot HDR) and use Color Efex 4 to open up the dynamic range of the pictures. The 'glow' in most HDR's don't work for me really as the technique seems to have too much to say in the actual style/look of the shot. As I'm primarily a painter I prefer to develop my own aesthetic and find CFX4 does the trick for me in photographs. Please don't take these comments the wrong way as they aren't meant to be negative in any way but are offered only to show a different perspective.
