First half attempt at a portrait (no studio, pop up flash, but tried harder at editing).

I understand why you were inside a car. It looks freezing.

Here's one from me. It is couple months old but I still like it. Tamron 16-50, iso 80, f/3.5

Hi

Like these images as an experiment and they are all well executed but next time try to stop the tripod legs from invading your pics, it can be done. Also, it looks like most of the foot marks are yours the result of walking up and down between placing the light an camera. Try to avoid these by walking a detour back to the camera or else get a helper.

I do this when taking shots of pristine white sand beaches, I walk in such a way to approach to the camera from behind.

Greetings

Thanks for the comments.
I take on board thew comments re: The tripod legs. I was intending to crop them out.

The footprints are due to the team installing the lasers around the lake. Unfortunately, once the snow is disturbed on such a large project installation, there's not a lot that can be done.

But thanks for the feedback, It's all useful information to take on board

Regards

Steve

I have wanted to take photos of Thaipusam for 3 yrs now, but always missed the chance.
Finally managed to take a 1/2 day off to get some shots.
Wonderful event.

For those who'd like to know... off Wikipedia.
"Thaipusam is a Hindu festival celebrated mostly by the Tamil community on the full moon in the Tamil month of Thai (January/February). It is celebrated not only in countries where the Tamil community constitutes a majority, but also in countries where Tamil communities are smaller, such as Mauritius[1], Singapore[2] and Malaysia.[3] The word Thaipusam is derived from the month name Thai and Pusam, which refers to a star that is at its highest point during the festival. The festival commemorates the occasion when Parvati gave Murugan a vel "spear" so he could vanquish the evil demon Soorapadam. "

The Kavadi itself is a physical burden through which the devotees implore for help from their deity.
Hindus take a vow to offer a kavadi to idol for the purpose of tiding over or averting a great calamity.

Frederic - you never cease to amaze. Great work - love the last pic

Here's my daughter doing something she knows she shouldn't be doing... (BTW - I'm completely B&W obsessed now after acquiring Nik Silver Efex).
