That's a crappy ninja if you were able to take a picture of him!!! or were you using the k5-x special edition with the 1/24000th sec. shutter !!! :-)

Sweet shot. Yup, the K-5 is the closest thing to a stealth DSLR I think.

I am not posting these pictures because they are so great, but I just found this little fellow in the tree outside my house. As it was getting dark I had to shoot ISO 6400. Sigma 50-500 @ 500 mm and the Pentax K5. Anyway, for the sake of this thread, it really shows what you can do with the K5 even with a slow lens and low light...

Now to the question, it looks like a purple sunbird in some ways (the head and the beak) the the orange things on the side I have never seen. Any clue?
