Wanted to share a few photos from a weekend trip to Northern Kentucky/Cincinnati and the Newport Aquarium.

Cincinnati Skyline.

Obligatory Jellyfish photo.

What lies beneath?

Looking for a dentist.

Entranced.

Wow, the alligator shot is great! Shallow DoF really helps with it. It adds to the sneaky nature of the creature, and really works well with the greens as they fade away. Nicely seen.

The towel shot is a good snap too. Nice moment captured there.

Nice. I guess that was a baby croc? It's difficult to get an idea of the size of crocs sometimes from a photo since little ones look so similar to adults.

Camel girls

FA 50 1.4.
(I shot a lot of these lanterns on the night. They are very photogenic).

ISO 5000, 1/100, f2

Red Kangaroo lantern - 2012 Lismore Lantern Parade

ISO 3200, 1/100, f2

Red head 1 - 2012 Lismore Lantern Parade

Heh. Were you the big, somewhat balding guy or the long haired bearded guy? I don't think I've seen so many Pentax users in one spot before.

It's funny (for me) seeing little ole Lismore on here.

Btw 'Red head 1' is Dirt Girl from Dirt Girl World.

Neither. I am neither tall, or big, or bearded, or balding, or long haired. Nor was I the bearded guy with the backpack and monopod, shooting flash all the time point-blank into people's faces.

No one ever notices me. There might be just three people in a room, and I bet you'd probably never remember seeing me.

Having said that, if you hung around for the Vulgargrad gig you might have seen me wielding my Sigma 70-200 II around the front and side of the stage for it's first gig outing. Pix on flickr soon.

I think it is probably an adult. It was in a small tank at the aquarium ( I shot all these with the FA 31 at close range).

These are all amazing shots . Thanks for sharing . Lovely Bokeh from Alligator shots. I guess that's the sort of Bokeh one expects to get from FA31. cheers Khorow
