Wow. Your set is pretty impressive too.
The coyote and vulture look great - DA*300 and K-5 are an excellent combination.

Thank you fs999. Here's one more that I really like. Only processing was to make the background darker and the lights more vibrant and sharp. Everything else is from the camera.

Very cool images.

I thought for a minute you were Daniel Murphy, who also does a lot of K-5 light painting, but then when I saw your flickr I realised you were in the US, whilst Daniel is from Australia.

Those are really cool. What made this "shoot" really fun was that I had just run into some completely random people at the park while running with my dog. Apparently this is going to be a regular thing so I'm already thinking about what to do next time.

Funny thing is I didn't even think about being able to do that at first - just kind hit me and got some pretty cool shots out of it.

Gosh, Rondec, those are great! How do you achieve that subtle painterly character?

It is really about finding the right light and the right scene. I'm not a master of it by any means.

I usually take a series of bracketed shots. Most of the time, I will choose one of the shots that is underexposed by a couple of shots to work on and then basically try to bring the photo to what my mind remembers the scene to look like. Some of the time, I take the photos to Photomatix and work on them there before bringing them back to lightroom to work on them.

Honestly, it is the K5 that really is the lynch pin here. I shoot at iso 80 on a tripod and I often need every bit of dynamic range that it offers in order to get a well-exposed final image that pleases me.
