Rondec-- You know, I don't think there are a whole lot of folks who would "see" that second picture with the naked eye...just outstanding. Another question, if you're willing: where in the frame did you meter? I'm thinking the brighter portion of field in the foreground, but having yet to explore the wonderful world of post production I'm getting used to being mistaken.

Thanks. I spot metered off of the tree, but I did multiple exposures and chose the one that seemed to keep the most detail in both the sky and the trees. I think it was -1 EV, although I could be wrong. By the way, these were shot with the DA 40, not the DA 15.

Thank you both. The light was just beautiful. The second photo almost felt more like a painting from the Hudson River School of Painting.
