The lake shot really is stunning! To me, anyways. I'm not a pro evaluator of images. But I could spend hours at a place like that, especially on a day like that. Hmm. I wonder if there are any Da Vinci Code things around there! Aren't they all over that area? Never know when you're going to stumble on a clue that leads to the answers all of man's most mortal questions. Ya never know. lol

Thanks

The lake picture is a little deceiving. It was very cold that day, about 40 or so with a strong north wind. I was out of the
car for no more than 10-15 minutes at a time taking pictures.
p.s. I think there are Da Vinci codes everywhere.

Thanks FS! Hope to get some shots of the one I hear hanging around here again.

My first ever model......she was a clerk at a Convenience Store where I eat lunch every day. Shy and plain, had never modeled and I had never done model or portrait shooting.....

Over the next 3 years she got really good, superb, in fact! Me? I "improved" my shooting skills, but never have reached my goals. You just keep trying!
K5

It's always the eyes....

Mrs Rupert jealous? Never, she has no reason to be, even at age 69!

Regards!

Good! A photo enthusiast with a sense of humor! Very encouraging! And you're right about that lake shot being somewhat deceiving. Looked to me like it was a more pleasant, warmer day. Perhaps in the future photos will be more multi-sensory! Immersion photos. Or something like that. Maybe we will be able to throw buckets of ice water on viewers to round out the experience of viewing a photo, say, of a cold, rainy, day. I'd enjoy that!

I am very impressed by the leaf close up. Can you tell me about how you shot it?

Another big fan of the "leaf" shot--I'm really liking the "long lens" approach to foliage that both you and Mark Littlejohn have shared lately.

All of these photos are really very impressive to me! Too bad I only have an old brand new K-5 I got just last week that I hardly know how to use. There's no chance for me.
Sure there is! If you have a K5 you have all you need to get great shots, just get out there and get started!

FS- More fine shooting! Love the colorful butterfly shot. You guys are all doing some nice shooting, I enjoy!

I just realized, going the rough my galleries, most of my K5 shooting has been squirrels, birds, or people. However, I do love spiders and found a couple of K5 spider shots I always liked.

You should bring your own picture as well for proper assessment of the situation.
Very good pictures of the squirrel eater!

I can do that.......I think the proper assessment would be that old Rupert got lucky!

We could vote on it, but I think we already know the outcome!

Sorry ! Didn't see your post !
I used the DA* 200mm at F2.8. There was a wall 4 meters away. The colour of the wall was slightly sepia, so I did a manual white balance on the wall in Corel Paint Shop Pro X6. The leaves came out more kaki than green.

Thank you Jean Show us your shots !

Nice to meet you Rupert !

I love this threat, it's always filled with beautiful photos!
Today I grabbed my K5 with the 100 macro wr and spent almost an hour shooting around my house. I love the colors and smells of Autumn!
