Neat! Never seen one of those around here. Are they winter birds or year around in your area?

No shots today guys...I spent all day printing Christmas cards and envelopes. I used several of the birds I have shot recently for fronts, but used this one the most. It looks really good on parchment paper after adjusting the lighting and contrast for the paper...which took a while. Not too many cards this year......just close friends and relatives. Before I retired I sent out hundreds of cards every year to my customers....and also for their birthdays etc...or just Thank You cards after working for them. I loved doing it, and it paid off for my business too. In all the years I worked, I never ran a single ad...it was all word of mouth business...the best kind! People like to be thought of...that never changes!

Regards...thinking of you guys here too!

Rupert, the white breasted nuthatch is a year round visitor to my feeders. It's cousin the smaller red breasted nuthatch only occasionally comes around. They have the funniest call its a real nasal "yank-yank" Actually pretty friendly bird too, but quite jittery. They don't stay put for long. If you notice they have one claw that faces the opposite direction giving them the ability to run down the tree head first. Putting your bird shots on Xmas cards is a great idea and one I may steal from you for next year

That's neat! Looks sort of like a Woody's claw.

Not sure what he was doing here? Stretch exercises? He had his claws dug in, and stayed there for several minutes.

Regards!

Cards are easy enough to make, and fun. Birds make nice fronts, but Otis says handsome squirrels are better!

You can make cards for all occasions, and they are more personal than bought cards........just use your imagination...or let Otis do it for you!

#3 is the one for me FS! Love it! That first one is a somber looking place, and a very nice capture.

Otis liked that squirrel, but did comment....."Look at those ears! Looks like something scared the hell out of him!"

Very nice bokeh for a squirrel shot! They do like lovely bokeh, creamy enough to eat!

Birds of a feather...... I would love to capture these little Spanish doves coming in for a landing with their wings feathered for touchdown. The undersides are a nice orange/red and very attractive. Just haven't been able to do it yet. Here, you can see the color on the top bird around the edge of his wing. When 4-5 are landing at once it is quite a colorful show!

Regards!

Beautiful doves Rupert, we only get the mourning variety here. Thought I might try something different today, a shaky video from the K5II. It's hell to get old and thus "shaky"

Lister-Neat moth capture! I'd love to see one of those around here. The kitty....just love it! Reminds me of my cat Tommy Boy.....now gone to cat heaven...although Otis swears there is no such thing as "cat heaven".

FS....Otis said you "must be one ugly dude?" Don't take it personal, you should hear the stories he tells little orphan squirrels and uses me as an example of what Frankenstein looks like.....

Regards!

My very first usable shot from K-5

First day out shooting with 18-138 WR on 'perfect' rainy evening... I am still getting used to the camera and the lens, but very satisfied of their capability!

edit: Apparently I need to get used to how to upload from flickr too..

Dyoon- That is a nice shot! Was that boat marooned? You are going to enjoy your K5, it is a fine camera and can bring tons of joy, just shoot plenty and post them here!

BVG....Relieve himself out in public? Nasty bird!

Makhzanji - I really like #2, and the colors in #1 are perfect! Nice shooting!

Maybe I will get something out the windows to post today? So far, the sun is too bright...but I'm not complaining!
Regards!
