Some scenes from a walking safari in South Africa, all with the K-5 + SMC DA 55-300, and all cross posted from the DA Zoom Club.

Curious.

Grazing square lipped rhino.

Male nyala.

Female nyala - not very similar to the male, is it?

The news as printed on the dried up river bed.

Too early to get up.

Warthog at the waterhole.

A less fortunate warthog.

Some leopard tortoises.

Too shy for portraits.

A few pics I took last week at the Jardines de Monforte, one of my favourite places here in Valencia. I was trying two recently acquired used lenses, a Tamron 70-300mm f4-5.6 LD Macro and a Pentax M 50mm f/1.7.

...shot taken by my wife... accidently my Sigma 500/4,5 + 1,4TC was attached to the K-5IIs and immediately available on my desk in the living room... ;-) She went up in the sleeping room and focussed through the window... Distance to this wonderful bird (only coming that close in winter periods) was about 8 meters.... outside was quite dark... ISO 6400 (my max set), TAV, Spot, all other should be visible in Exifs...
