I kept edging closer to this guy hoping he would take flight and I'd get a in-flight shot. Fully expecting him to dip and lose altitude before he climbed, boy was I wrong! I almost missed the shot and only got off one fair one.
These guys must have stong legs and great lift even with one downstroke of their wings.

The only reason I'm posting this otherwise boring, slightly overexposed shot, is that I noticed after the fact I caught a fly in the focal plane that appears to be what the hawk is looking at.

kcupp95 --- I regret to advise you that I have reported your post as being in violation of the rules here at PF. You need to go back and add a NSFW to your header.
Think of all of those still stuck in the icy cold, sloppy snow, and howling winds that are walking off their jobs this morning and purchasing airline tickets to head your way. In a few weeks, your paradise will be crawling with new arrivals, and your next shots will be cluttered with humans littering up your perfect scenes!

Regards!

BTW- Otis just purchased 500 tickets for himself and his Army of Squirrels......

Cheers guys!!
Just coming into winter here........ Highs of 28 and lows of 20 (Celsius that is!!)

Didn't quite manage to capture the crocodile and jellyfish warning signs into the photos though..... In the top photo you can just see the stinger net in the mid ground.... should be able to swim soon!

Erictator Fantastic hawk shots, very sharp and clear! You were lucky to get them and did a great job with you luck!

FS- As always, great shooting, 3&4 are my favorites here....What is that structure in #3?

I got a really good naked topless squirrel shot with my K5 and Bigma yesterday...but wouldn't you know it....she was underage and her mom wouldn't give me a model release. Her mom offered to pose, but believe me, you wouldn't want to see that! I bet she has had a thousand babies.....and it shows!

Regards!

Thanks wtlwdwgn, FS999 & Rupert! I've been enjoying shooting again... we are about to start our season of endless 90+ degree days down here, so timing will become more critical.

Oh, and hey, Rupert, tell your little buddy Otis that this little guy says all the hot squirels are hiding down south here in Florida to avoid the paparazzi, heh.

Kind of slowed down over here......I know you guys (well, some of you?) are disappointed that I didn't post those topless squirrel shots I mentioned above yesterday. I explained that I couldn't because the little cute girly squirrel was underage and her mama would not consent to a model release.
First, let me make it clear, I am NOT an old pervert, I have no interest in naked squirrels, and was only trying to post a few for the benefit of those that do. Anyhow, I thought she was of age, she said she was and was smoking a cigarette, drinking a bottle of beer, and cursing like a drunken sailor......so I had little reason to doubt her.
Today her mama came to me and demanded that I take a few shots of her instead and post them for her 15 minutes of fame on the internet, and to possibly entice a new mate, since her old mate ran off with one of her best friends. She threatened to turn me in to Otis for corrupting her "sweet little girl" if I didn't (like that smoking, drinking, cussing little demon isn't already corrupt?) so for my own good and for those here interested in such stuff...here she is!

I didn't lie, yesterday, she looks like she has been ridden hard and handled rough.....but in her eyes she is still a young beauty......you know how women are! (No offense to human women intended.)

Attachment 220609

That's it for me, no more naked or topless squirrels for me! Just too much damn hassle. If you guys that feel the need for such stuff want more, get a Bigma or other long lens and shoot your own....old Rupert is out of the squirrel porno business for good!

Regards!

BTW- Didn't mean for that to post so large...that's plumb disgusting!

I've been out and about learning my new-to-me K-5. Here are a few of my favorite shots so far. All three taken with my FA 100/2.8 Macro, which I have re-named "the tank."
