Originally posted by gaweidert Spent a few hours today at the Genesee Country Village and Museum. Saw this high contrast scene and though that I would give it a go. The lens is an old friend of mine that I got new a few decades ago. An Adaptall Tamrom 70-210 F3.5. Some purple fringe. I almost expected it on this scene.
Frederic, outstanding work as usual... always a pleasure... but I have to ask, on my monitor, the first flower shot, the stamens look a little odd... is it my display, or maybe they are a little cooked? My K-5 can really go crazy on yellows if the conditions are just right and sometimes I have to back off the yellow highlights channel during post. That said, you continue to find the picture hidden in the landscape, not unlike the sculptor who finds the statue hidden in the rock or clay.
Trout - You make a strong case for that short zoom...
Rondec, Gaweidert, and all - excellent work!
And I too have lens lust for the DA12-24 or maybe the Samsung 10-20... or 8-16... something to fill that ultra-wide niche' in my setup. My DA16-45 is my widest lens at the moment... but I've been shooting the Tamron 17-50 F2.8 and leaving the DA at home... LBA is a cruel mistress!
