My 1st few shots with the K5 and my 1st attempt at shooting RAW

Hi guys, I just got my K5 a few days ago. Here are some of the first few pics I took with my K5. This is also the 1st time I shoot RAW. I guess I still have alot to learn on shooting RAW, Pic 1 and 2 are taken in RAW and converted to JPEG via Photoshop Camera Raw plug-in in CS5. The rest are taken in JPEG. All the pics are taken at my local town garden between 7 to 7.30pm using the DA35/2.4.

1) Woodlands Town Garden Pavilion (ISO 2500 1/60s F2.4 -1EV)

2) Woodlands Town Garden Bridge (ISO 1600 1/60s F2.4 -1EV)

3) Alone by the lake (ISO 400 1/60s F2.4 +0.3EV)

4) Woodlands Town Garden Playground (ISO 1600 1/60s F2.4 -1EV)

5) Twilight Lamp (ISO 125 1/60s F2.4 -1EV)

6) Friendship (ISO 160 1/80s F2.8 +0.3EV)

Has Adobe released an ACR update for the K5 PEF or did you do these with DNG?

Look good on my screen. Have fun with the camera and welcome to the club!

Thanks Jeff! I don't think ACR supports K5 PEF yet. I shoot pic 1 and 2 in DNG then convert to JPEG. I think I did my workflow wrongly for pic 2, ended up I thought it looks abit oversharpened.

Are you trying to start an new urban legend about K-5 "too sharp" images? I should advise you that a thread is already running about The death of The Soft K5 urban legend.
BTW, K-5 must have a problem with color as well: https://www.pentaxforums.com/forums/pentax-k-5-forum/123308-death-soft-k5-urban-legend-2.html

Pentax just doesn't get it right, damn...

Having just shots some RAW on the K5 and just using the same in camera settings to convert them to JPEG using the software given for the camera, I am very impressed by the color and detail over the in-camera JPEG.

Looks like I will use RAW from now on.
