K5 high ISO shots - outside city park

I am working on something with the Chamber of Commerce and we have a Holiday stroll coming up and needed to do some scouting so I decided to take the K5 and tinker a little with some high iso shots. I was pretty happy with the results with these and understand the shutter speeds pretty slow and if people in they they would be blurred but still add a flash and I could have some keepers.

These are all with K5 and 16-45mm - Shot in DNG converted in Lightroom2 and only tweaked one with Noise reduction (most WB a little)and think I did something wrong since it doesn't look that much different.

Shot handheld ISO 12800 F4.0 1/50second WB tweak ONLY .

Shot handheld ISO 12800 F4.0 1/25second WB tweak ONLY .

Shot handheld ISO 6400 F4.0 1/25second Noise Reduction 40 in LR2. DNG converted in LR2 - It doesn't seem like it did much.

Shot handheld ISO 64000 F4.0 1/25second no tweaks

I am happy and looking forward to getting in a gym when the kids have basketball to see how they compare to my K10.

Quick Flickr question - I have not used it that much lately (but am again) Did they not have a spot where you could see all the EXIF info for the shot? I can't seem to find it????

Comments welcomed and again nothing controlled or fancy as far as testing just thought worth posting.

This is amazing.
Hand-held night-shots.....and not even using a "fast" lens...it opens up a whole new world of photography......

Да,възможностите на ИСО на К-5 са впечатляващи!
Само внимавай къде фокусираш.
Желая успех!

Very impressive. Thanks for posting. Your image noise at 12800 is better than my K200 at 1600. Looks about what I would expect at ISO400-800. That is 4-5 extra stops.

Now if you got a nice fast 50mm f/1.4 on it, you could be shooting as if the sun was out...

I have tried night photography thing twice at a 24hr sailing event that I help officiate. This shot is K200 @ ISO1600 f/1.7 1/8s SMC M-50. The noise is there but tolerable, but wind has to be light and very little movement of people of boats to make it work at 1/8s. I could have been shooting at 1/60s-120s. Still wondering K-5 vs K-x...

The more results I see, the more I want a K-5, and I WILL get me one!
