Regarding Pixmania, is extra duty applied to the purchase or owed by me when picked up for shipping in my country? Is the price advertised the final and no extras charged for tax?

My experience with Pixmania is that the price + p&p is the final one that is, VAT is included (once upon time they had the best price on a Sony DVD+RW and more recently a Panasonic TV). However, Googlin I've found some online experiences which suggest that *if* things go wrong (warranty return or somesuch) they might be less than stellar so I'd suggest some Googling and then deciding wheter the difference in price is worth it. (With the above stuff I had a very high confidence in the products and there were no issues, even delivery was trackable and fast enough for me.)

Edit: they seem eager to push related stuff to the cart so take extra care when cheking out :-)

One of the most competitive internet dealers in Switzerland. They are building a new internet plattform which is in Beta at shop.digitec.ch. Note that the two sites maintain separate sourcing.

I bought mine at the Beta shop for CHF 1'607.- with with the kit lens (equals appr. EUR 1'227.-) because delivery time was shorter. Purchasing date was 25.11.2010.
