Cable release CS-205 for K-5?

Will the CS-205 cable release work on the K-5? How long is the cable? Thanks

Read the K-5 manual (download it if you haven't got the K-5 yet); all requested info in there.

It is mentioned as an optional accessory and it mentions a cable length of 50cm

Don, in addition to the standard lenght of cable you can increase it just by adding headphone extension cable. I can get my cable release out to 15' now (about 5M)

The CS-205 is quite short and not very cheap; but you can get a 3rd-party cable, those for lower-end Canons works just fine.

I have the CS-205 I'm using on my K-5. The problem I have is that if I plug it in all the way it doesn't work. To get it to work on my K-5 or on my sister-in-law's K-20, I have to put it half way in.
Is that normal? It doesn't seem right to me.
What's wrong with it?

Unless you like having a tripping hazard attached to your camera, I find the IR release works a treat.
