It really annoys me i found the same problem. I really do not know how i should handle this. I simply want a trouble free camera. I already can see them at F11 by the way. WIll Pentax do something with this for the users that have this problem?

One day old camera. 100% crop of the center shoot at f22, no sharpening done.

(exif says sharpness hard, contrast hard. I have no idea where that came from, i'ts a raw developed in rawtherapee at default values, everything at zero, nothing done but cropped)

How do you guys know that a wet sensor clean would not solve the issue?
Pentax O-ICK1 and wet cleaning done.

Note that the K-5 and K-r have their own dedicated forums.

I'm sure they will. I plan to wait until Pentax has recognized this as a significant issue and has their process in place to handle it. Until then it's not noticeable enough to be a problem. It could get worse though, and even if it doesn't, a $1500 camera should have a clean sensor.

Serial No. starting 3889 purchased onAmazon.com.

I have two small spots just right of center that cannot be cleaned off with sensor cleaning feature or otherwise.

Back to Amazon I guess.

Lucky you, mine isn't. Here I go, on complaining tour. How I hate it. It just doesn't come off.

Let me get this straight...these cameras are all on warranty, right?

Nuff' said?

Steve

(According to Consumer Reports, between 3% and 5% of new dSLR cameras from major manufacturers require replacement or service under warranty...)

Warranty? Sure, lucky me, guaranteed to make me feel happy. It's just one of life's minor nuisances, sort of a luxary problem. Just a minor thought, it was a gift from my husband, I think it is sad for him.
It is never nice to have something new you are excited about to be, you know, a bit flawed. :ugh:

I understand the disappointment, but a relatively high rate of defect/failure is part of the photography landscape in today's market. One in 20 new Nikon dSLR owners feel the same pain.
