k5 5 point AF-C samples

Yesterday I did some testing with my K5, Setup:

Tamron 90 mm 2.8 Macro lens at F4
AF-C mode
5 point selection
focus priority
1/1000
ISO 160

A skater coming towards me with more than normal running speed. I analyzed the pictures in " Photome" and I saw a number for " predictive AF" ? So Pentax does have predictive AF ??
The pictures are not all razor sharp, but most of them come close.
The last af-c test I did with my kr and Sigma 70-200 2.8. The results look a bit better maybe because of the Sigma 70-200 ???

For the pictures : Gallery - Category: Various

They look good to me but a macro lens is not ideal for fast moving subjects. Macro lenses are made for precise focusing, not for fast focusing. The Sigma 70-200 will give you better results IMO.

Cheers

Looking good!

Perhaps the next series of images you would like to post should go here:

https://www.pentaxforums.com/forums/pentax-k-5-forum/118553-k5-auto-focus-tests.html

There are already quite a few threads on the subject and adding another one just brings more confusion.
Just a thought.

Cheers.
