#3827465. No issues, or, just could not find any. Guess it means the same.

I got in touch with the seller who put me in contact with the company that does Pentax warranty repairs here: they advised to send/bring it in, they'll check it (and I'll get a replacement). It is a drag, but can't really ask for more at this point I suppose.

Does anyone have any clue what are stain spots are? Any word from Pentax? Seems like filthy (e.g. anti-reflecting) coating material stick to glass when spraying on the glass to me.

These would seem to be under the topmost filter surface, could be an imperfection of the sheet glass material (e.g. bubbles) or a stain on an inner surface. Could be the coating (if any?) as you suggest. No hard evidence is in I think?

IIRC, Pentax somewhere informed somebody that the stains are defects within the chip cover glass, like embedded bubbles in the glass. The chip cover glass is part of the chip packaging and isn't part of the Pentax filter assembly.

Minulla on aika monimutkikas koko huoltoon lähettäminen.

Amazon Germany has taken the K5 out of their catalogue due to the stain problems.
It is available through Amazon only from private dealers.

Stains or Dust? Please let it be Dust.

Hi there!

Happy New Year!

Well, this is my very first post in this truly good site.

My question to all of you. Are this spot stains or is it just dust.
The K-5 dustalarm does not notice it at all. Beginning at F11, those marks are noticeable.
This shot is against a white wall at F22 and 15 sec. They don't get away after using the dust removal tool of the camera.

I'm sorry for my bad English.

The sensor spots usually have a dark center and a halo and come in a tighter group. I'd try a bulb blower to chase them off: if that helps you have a clean sensor.
