Just thought I would add the aftermarket batteries I use and have been using for years in the last three camera bodies, are all from chinese ebay sites with very high ratings they average $12.00 Australian verses $140.00 for Pentax. I am not going to spend my time doing indepth voltage comparasions etc but I do wear full u.e.d. protection when using the camera. LOL

After all the heated discussion, can someone recommend a generic k5 battery that works well? I recently get a k-5 and would like to get at least one extra battery. Please provide link to the battery! Much appreciate!

I've used the battery for a few months. It lasted through a week in Maui, and I've had no problems with it so far.
Battery life was almost 1500 shots on one charge.

The review on amazon was not mine, but for that price I'd say it's a great deal!

I bought a grip + two batteries for around $70 on Ebay - both batteries are working fine so far - have taken hundreds of photos and the charge indicator is still saying full!

Having bought "Ebay" batteries for my other devices though - generally my experience is the generics don't seem to last as long between charges as the originals but hey at a fraction of the price I don't really care.

I bought one of these with my K5, and have yet to make a dent in its first charge. I'd say it is high quality and at least as high capacity as the oem.

Kun ostin K-5 ostin mukana Pystykahvan ja mukana 2 alkuperäistä Pentax varaakkua . Jäi rahaakin jäljelle. Voin nukkua yöt hyvin ei tarvitse miettiä kestääkö akut, vai räjähtääkö kameransisässä. Meinaan monet akut on räjähtänyt kännyköissä ja muissa laitteissa, kun on ollut piraatteja. Takuuhan ei korvaa laiteita jos siinä on käytetty jotakin köyhänmiehen piraattiakkuja. Suosittelen ostamaan halvemman kameran, että pystyy ostamaan kunnon akun rahoillaan.
