Front-focusing. A value of "-10" corrects a FF condition.

at least now contrast AF is quicker..so it will be a good workaround ..lets see what 1.03 brings...if its not fixed then....mine will/might be on its way back to the store..

wait guys.... setting in minus shifts focusing point in my direction so it correct back focus problem - in oter words front focus is placing the focusing point before the subject....simply means that the camera focuses closer than it should be...

As far as I understand, you dial in negative AF adjustments to counteract a front focus condition. You enter positive adjustment to compensate for a back focus condition. I'm pretty sure you have it reversed.

Do I follow this correctly? You are at a wedding and you stop and dial in -10 as the New Couple comes down the dimly lit aisle heading outside........then you go outside and dial in +10 in the bright sunshine? Is this a new process or have Wedding Photographers been doing this regularly? I have never dialed in a thing on my K20D, not ever, not in any light. Maybe a few lenses could use it, but it was so close I never bothered. There has to be a better answer than this?
Pentax, I want the K5, make it right!
Regards

Nah

according to my Instruction booklet..page 126.. "minus" shifts the focus position further away...correcting FF.

I know it sounds arse about...but that my understanding....

I just picked mine up (bought from Ryda) from the courier depot.
Version 1.01 and tested under tungsten/artifical light and its perfectly fine with no FF, unlike my k-r.
I've only tested it with the 18-135 kit lens, but will try it with the FA 50 1.4 later today.

No, I said that's what I put in. Of course, I'm, a photographer first, and a wiener a distant second, so I just do what works..
I'll leave it to the wieners to figure it out.

dunno if F3.5 will show the problem as much ..you really need to be at 2.8 or wider to limit the DOF...try 50mm 1.4 at 1metre away...then let us know ?
