how long for the K6?

Hi, i was waitning for the K5 to upgrade my k20d, i see everything the K5 have and i like it, but the need of tethering shooting, and a more professional video feature set will set me away from it for a while...

So... How long until ther next camera comes along? 1 year? 2 years? K6 maybe?

Maybe 3-4 years as the will fix any problems with K5 and sell lots of them, so when the K 6-or what ever they call will be far Superior then the K5.

There already is a tethering option for the K-5.

Yeah, as far as pentax labeling goes, it will be a lower number if its Superior. So it will be the K4..or the K1

If Pentax added manual video controls in a FW update, and AF was improved by future lenses, I wouldn't care when the K-whatever came out. The k-5 is just about everything I could ever want in a camera. That being said, if the K-whatever came out, I'm sure I would want it...

yup, japanese companies dont use number 4 in their product labeling

to quote wikipedia
There are several unlucky numbers in Japanese. Traditionally, 4 and 9 are unlucky. Four is sometimes pronounced shi, which is also the word for death.

as for the newer model... considering all the problems with it, seems to me the K5 isn't finished yet so no point in speculating on a next model ... let's get this one working!

k-7 came in May 2009. k-5 in Nov 2010. By this rate, there would be a K-3(or 4) in less than 2 years. But it would really depend on Sony. Unlike Nikon with D7000, where they are likely to release a 400 next year, k-5 is Pentax's top model. There will not be any upgrade model until Sony comes up with the next rev of the sensor.

The K-7 didn't wait for a new sensor

Or perhaps Japanese are not as superstitious as we like to think they are.
