Is this a stain??

I'm onto my third K-5; I think the third one is perfect but I noticed a spot on the right side that is independent of lenses. I've tried blowing the spot several times with no luck.

I shot this at f-22. I shot several and it was visible down to f 8.

Its probably dust that somehow got stuck to the sensor.

If its most visible at F22 thats likely because at F22 the depth of field is largest and its catching something that is on the sensor.

Thanks...Anything else I can do to remove it I've tried using my rocket blower several times, with no luck at all.

The infamous sensor stains typically have a dark center and a halo. This looks more like a regular dust speck. Some dust is sticky enough to require a wet clean.

Oh, the Pentax O-ICK1 might be worth a try before going for a wet clean.

Looks like dust to me too.
Could you post 100% crop of the speck just to confirm?

3rd K-5! Until they fix the problem at the source your just wasting your time.

The stains problem develops after use, a camera that has no stains now might well have them 500 shots later.

This looks like dust.

Nothing is confirm about this. This is pure speculation. Mine is still clear after 3000 photos and some videos

Just out of curiosity I did the same test on my k-7 and found several spots--seem like dust, except one very dark spot in the middle (again using f-22 and tried it with 2 lenses). attached is a full shot and a crop on the very dark spot....Is that dark spot really dust?

Is the O-ICK1 safe? Should I bring it to a camera shop to have them clean it? I'm a bit afraid actually touching the sensor myself for fear of making it worse and/or voiding my warranty...
