Are we too early to expect results due to extreme difficulty in the repair, or are we at a point where Pentax has decided to "let it go"? I'm not in a particular hurry, but I would like some idea of what to expect?

I was wondering the same and I don't have any answers for you (The "technical knowledge" part leaves me at a disadvantage as well
)...but, I am wondering whether Pentax will have the resources to deal with this along with the usual R&D for new products in a timely manner? The fact that the 645D which has the same AF module not having this AF problem tells me it could be done as a firmware issue (unless the mirror assmebly is causing it?, but then that would be the same as the K-7 though????). I frankly didn't want to take tha chance of Pentax coming through with a solution and that's why I didn't keep the camera....I hope it will be fixed soon, so I can get it again SOON.
