K-5 - Clicking noise on every user action

Hi all,

Have had camera several days without a problem, but all of a sudden today, the camera started making "shutter" click sounds on every single user action -

can't focus and shoot
every menu option change or user input to any of the user controls triggers a "clicking" shutter noise.

I can't seem to get out of this mode despite changing lenses.

Any ideas here?

Take out battery and wait a minute and put them back

Hi tried taking out the battery, waiting a minute, and putting it back in - no luck.

Have noticed that while i'm stuck in this mode, the top right status / info LED display does not show information relating to "F" / Aperture value.

If i turn the power on and off, the camera does seem to find focus and re-display the proper "F" / Aperture value. However after a few camera shots, the display indicators for "F" disappear again coinciding with the current bug where i cannot move without the shutter opening and closing repeatedly. In this mode, I cannot shoot, despite being able to move around the UI display.

Despite the battery showing full strength, am re-charging it currently - to see if it makes a difference.

try updating the firmware (again)

Something has either got corrupted softrware wide or you've hardware fault. Fingers crossed it's the former. Good luck

Nämä samat viat on Nikon, Canon ja muissakin järjestelmä kameroissa. Asiasta mainitaan näitten kameroiden käyttöoppaissa. Minulla ilmeni samaa vikaa K20D mutta ei viellä K-5. Ei kuulu takuun piiriin jos ei jää peili jumiin, sanotaan jossakin ohjeissa.
